The 2007 Kansas Book Festival will be held October
5-6 at Koch Arena on the campus of Wichita State University.
The
Kansas Book Festival celebrates literature, the arts, and Kansas heritage. It
is a joint presentation of the Governor's Cultural Affairs Council, the State
Library of Kansas, the Kansas Center for the Book, the Kansas Historical Society,
Wichita Public Library, Kansas Arts Commission, and the Kansas Humanities Council..
The 2007 Festival will benefit the State Library's Statewide Summer Reading
Program, which reaches 80,000 children through public libraries in 400 Kansas
communities every year. Several nationally prominent authors will be featured
this year, and the event will continue to spotlight Kansas authors and books.
Proceeds from the Gala will go to the Kansas Library Association Educational
Foundation's Greensburg/Kiowa County Library Relief Fund.
