The Kansas Book Festival would love to have your time, energy, and efforts to
make the second Festival a rousing success!
Volunteers are needed for shifts on Thursday, October 4, Friday, October 5,
and Saturday, October 6. Volunteers will receive an official Kansas Book Festival
T-shirt to wear during their shifts. Volunteers may choose as many shifts as
desired, and we will seek to use them all.

Volunteer Areas
Children's Area
- Assist with children's activities and events.
Author Escorts
- Guide authors to their appearance rooms and assist them as needed during
their presentations and signings.
Floaters/Rovers
- Move about the entire festival assisting staff and other volunteers as
necessary.
Information Booth/Greeters
- Greet attendees, answer questions, provide directions and updated information.
Parking Attendant
-Monitor and direct traffic in parking areas
Ushers - Greet
audiences in session rooms and tents, count audience members for each session,
and assist audience members as needed.
Setup or Tear Down
- Assist with Festival and exhibitor setup and teardown.
Volunteer Check-In
- Check in volunteers as they arrive and answer questions about volunteer
positions and duties.
